In my last 5 for Friday I mentioned how I wanted to start a Minecraft Club - well we did! Last week we held a meeting with a few students who had a lot of experience to create spawn (I didn't know what they meant or why we needed it but apparently it's like home base haha). This week we launched the first whole group meeting and while there were kinks and problems to work through it was PHENOMENAL to see how excited the students were to build and engineer these projects together. They couldn't get their sentences out fast enough and everyone's voices came out a pitch higher! It. was. wonderful. As a teacher, that's the excitement I'm inspired to bring to the classroom every day.
Here's a video about it if you wanna know more :)
The kids had a BLAST Egg hunting this week! When it was chilly outside we did an indoor egg hunt and later when it warmed up we did the fraction review outside! We had a minor mishap when the Kindergartners moved the eggs during their recess! HAHA, it really frustrated some of my kids who thought they knew where they all were :) Sneaky kindergartners :) You can check the resource out in my store too, just click HERE for fractions.and HERE for poetry!
I interviewed for a year round position on Wednesday and was offered the job!! Really excited for the opportunities it brings - to travel, the new experience, etc. but so bittersweet to leave my amazing school now.
While surfing Pinterest I came across this and have been starting to do some spring cleaning and redesigning of my room :) Click here for the pin.
I'm sure many of you saw this video floating around the interwebs but I love it so much I wanted to share it with anyone who hasn't seen it yet - kuddos to these teachers!!!
